General Life at Vision Christian Family - AN IPSWICH CHURCH

Vision Christian Family grew out of the Ipswich Christian Outreach Centre which was first pioneered in 1975. It became an independent church in 1980 and in 1990 joined Christian Life Churches International, a fellowship of like minded churches in Australia and abroad under CLCI’s founding Chairman, Trevor Chandler

Our vision is to be a caring and empowering community of God’s people, bringing healing and restoring hope through life changing encounter with Jesus Christ.

We not only have a big heart for people but a big heart for our city. Vision Christian Family is one of a number of Ipswich churches who want to see Christ’s kingdom dynamically established in the lives of God’s people. Everything we do ultimately works toward this single purpose.

Pastor Geoff Wilson has been leading Vision Christian Family from its formative years through until now. His heart is to see people wonderfully transformed by God's Word and Spirit and living as real disciples of Christ.

WHAT KIND OF CHURCH ARE WE?

We are a Christ-centred Church. Jesus Christ is Lord, and we hold Him to be pre-eminent in all things. For this reason we devote much time and attention to worship and praise.

We are a Bible Church. We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God and as such is our only standard for doctrine and conduct. For this reason we have a strong emphasis on Bible preaching, teaching and government by elders.

We are Pentecostal in experience. We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the operation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as stated in 1 Corinthians 12, and the development of the Fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. We believe in the on going work of the Holy Spirit to bring the Church to maturity as in Ephesians 4:11-13.

We are a local Church. We believe that the unity of the Spirit supersedes barriers, and welcome anyone who is open to the gospel of Jesus Christ as Saviour to fellowship with us. We recognise that we are a part of the wider fellowship of the whole Body of Christ.
